Spotlight on Acoustic Music and Thanksgiving Eve Live Music! | News, Sports, Jobs

0

Here’s a list of the area’s live and online music events for the weekend and week from Friday November 19 through Thursday November 25.

With the arrival of Thanksgiving in a few days, there are plenty of musical events taking place this weekend and Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve. Check out the list below to find out who is playing where.

The region’s original acoustic music will be in the spotlight with two different events on Saturday evening. The Center ArtsAltoona will host “Acoustic altoona” from 7 p.m., with performances by local artists James Grove, Nik Mik and Nate Gates. Visual illustrations by Daniel Albright will also be on display. Admission is $ 5.

And the US hotel in Hollidaysburg will host the first “Words in freedom: the series of singer-songwriters” at Liberty Hall from 8 p.m. This event will feature four local singer-songwriters – Matt Wagner, Conner Gilbert, Dylan Miller and Chet Denny – performing their musical creations in a “tower” format, where each musician performs a song followed by another musician, going in circles throughout the evening. The musicians will also share a preview of their song creations, and maybe even collaborate with each other on songs later in the event. Admission is $ 5; advance reservations are recommended for dinner.

So browse the list below, pick an event or two (or three) and SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC as you get ready and celebrate Thanksgiving! And if you plan to celebrate a lot, please designate a sober driver or call a taxi or Uber service to get home safely.
