Bernadette Thorn was a staple of the San Diego music scene, which she lovingly told through the photographs she took here for The Troubadour at concerts big and small.
After sustaining serious neck and head injuries in a fall at his home last month, the music community responded similarly.
While Bernadette was on life support, no less than six prominent local singer-songwriters performed by her bedside at Mercy Hospital, where she died on September 8.
All six will perform next Sunday, October 21, at Songs of Bernadette, a memorial concert at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Ocean Beach.
It will feature some of the favorite songs of Bernadette and her husband, award-winning history teacher and San Diego music historian Steve Thorn.
Donations will be accepted at Donate Life California, the nonprofit organization to which Bernadette left her body. Since her death, two of Bernadette’s vital organs have already been delivered to grateful recipients, helping to prolong their lives.
