Celebrate the birth of the flag of Texas

Montgomery is hosting a celebration in honor of the creation of the Texas flag in the city. Local historians and professors will be on hand to provide free historical context, while visitors can take walking tours of historic sites in Montgomery. There will also be historical re-enactments by dancers Chikawa Aztec, the Texas Daughters of the American Revolution Flag Committee and Sons of the Republic, the latter with an authentic canon. The day will end with a screening of “Sam Houston: American Statesman, Soldier and Pioneer”. 10 am-10pm Free.
