The Big Chill Surf Cantina will host its annual CoChilla mini-festival on Sunday April 12 and will no doubt include a mixed audience.

The indoor / outdoor nightclub on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach is known for allowing guests to bring their dogs.

“It’s a dog-friendly event, so bring the puppies out,” said organizer Melissa Alesi. Admission to CoChilla, which will feature local singer-songwriters from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is free. However, the site will donate 10% of its sales to the Georgetown SPCA.

CoChillia is the brainchild of guitarist-singer Alesi, who will be the master of ceremonies.

“I’ll play a song or two between each act,” she said.

Acoustic artists include Bryan Scar at 4:30 pm; Mike Anthennelli at 5:10 pm; Adam Ask at 5:50 p.m. Tim Cooney at 6:30 p.m .; Tyler Greene at 7:10 p.m.; and Matt Lafferty at 7:50 p.m.

Members of the public will be able to help increase the amount of revenue for the SPCA.

“We will be holding raffles and silent auctions with donations from local businesses,” said Alesi. Attendees include Gallery Espresso, 16 Mile Brewery, Midway Fitness & Racquetball, Oasis Wellness Spa, Cultured Pearl Sushi Restaurant, Cross Fit Rehoboth and Good News Natural Foods.

The concert also allows musicians to present their original material, and some will have CDs for sale. The show is scheduled to take place on the Big Chill’s outdoor stage. As most of the attendees are accompanying themselves on acoustic guitar, the show can easily be moved within the tiny confines of the indoor bar in inclement weather.
