Showcasing local musicians, Boomerang Six will electrify the Chilliwack Cultural Center stage with Floe Pham and other performers on December 18.
Pham will lead a range of carefully selected musicians who will not only cover a wide collection of familiar genres, but also bring new ones to the Cultural Center.
“Boomerang Six is programmed by Floe Pham, a local musician whose new band Go With the Floe will debut with their first live performance at this event,” said Amber Bergeron, Programming Manager. “They perform covers of pop, rock and inspiring rap music. Joining them will be ShootingStar Idols, an independent song and dance group focused on celebrating and popularizing Asian idol culture in Canada. There will also be some promising young local artists who are just starting their performance journey and are excited to be on stage for Boomerang Six.
The Boomerang Concert series aims to give musicians in the community a chance to create something and get real hands-on experience playing in a relaxed yet professional setting, she added.
“We give them the tools, resources and mentorship they need for a great show, and they use their skills and knowledge to put together a memorable performance,” said Bergeron. “The idea behind the name of the series ‘Boomerang’ is a metaphor for all the hard work and creativity that goes into these shows. The effort put into what you will see on stage will reward these young musicians with more tools, experience and knowledge to continue pursuing their art form in the future. And not only are all performers categorized as “young musicians,” but most of the staff working on these shows, from the marketing team to the lighting and sound technicians, are also young members of the community, perfecting their skills. their job and gaining experience. in industry.”
These local talents will each tell their story through their palette of alternative, pop and acoustic music.
