Alicia Keys Postpones 2020 ALICIA World Tour Including San Diego Concert

Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys has postponed her 2020 ALICIA World Tour – including her Cal Coast Credit Union open-air theater from September 11 to the SDSU concert – because of the coronavirus.

Winner of 15 Grammy Awards and new resident of La Jolla, Keys was scheduled to kick off her tour on June 5 in Ireland and be on the road until a concert on September 22 in Miami. No new date has been announced.

“We are all patiently waiting to see how the world is doing,” Keys tweeted Thursday.

“We held the dates as long as we could BUT the safety and good health of my in-laws is paramount… you can’t believe how disappointed I am that we have to postpone the ALICIA world tour. Trust me and know that I can’t wait to be with you. I miss you so much.”

In March, Keys postponed the book tour for his memoir, “More Myself: A Journey”. The release of her new album, “Alicia”, has also been postponed. Keys has hosted the Grammy Awards for the past two years.

His concert at the SDSU is the latest to fail due to the pandemic, following the cancellation of June shows by AJR, Barenaked Ladies and Melanie Martinez.

On Thursday afternoon, Ticketmaster is still selling tickets for Keys’ postponed show in September in San Diego. Live Nation, the promoter of the San Diego concert, has yet to announce the postponement of their tour or give information on refunds.
